Understanding People in Poverty

Do you understand why people in poverty do some of the things that they do?

On June 17th, from 10 am-12:15 p.m., you can take a two hour look at the patterns in which people in poverty, particularly generational poverty, live and work.

Even those who know struggling families or have worked with people in poverty for years find this interactive ses-sion helps them add to their knowledge about adults and children who come from generational poverty; and the information helps them add tools to their toolkits, too.

Administrators and teachers from Muncie Community Schools , Delaware County schools, members of First Baptist Church and Grace Episcopal Church are invited to attend this training as part of a partnership. Anyone else wishing to attend can do so at $10 per person.

Taught by staff of TEAMwork for Quality Living, the local nonprofit that empowers people in poverty toward self-sufficiency, the class gets high marks for the lens through which it helps the community see people in poverty.

RSVP by Monday, June 15, to 747-7158 or by e-mailing bsw@teamworkql.org or, if you can’t make that date, learn when another session of this class will be offered.

The training will be held at:

Whitinger & Company  1100 W. White River Blvd Muncie, IN 47303
