TEAMwork led the Living Healthy Advisory Group for 15 years. Although that part of their work has ended, they constantly work with Circles families to practice living healthier lives.
The garden at Maring Hunt Library is a place where the entire Circles community grows vegetables every spring. Working together to till the soil, plant, weed, and harvest the garden, adults and children learn about gardening and about enjoying the food.
In addition, TEAMwork often serves produce from Second Harvest Food Bank on Thursday evenings and teaches the group about how to cook and enjoy the items.
Several transitioned Circle Leaders are a part of a Milestones Group. They work together to set health, exercise and eating goals and then celebrate their successes and provide support to each other. They have also worked with a registered dietician and other community resources to plan and execute healthier behaviors.
Circles families have often walked together in training for the area’s Walk Indiana marathon walk. This is a way the Circles community to fellowship and support each other and include their children in healthy activities.
